Knee decompression or knee traction is natural therapy that aims to decrease pain, increase range of motion, reduce inflammation, and promote the regeneration of the connective tissues. This procedure is used to take pressure off of the knee joint by purposefully separating the femur and tibia. It helps replenish depleted synovial fluid in the knee joint.

Viscosupplementation (gel injections) uses hyaluronic acid that is injected into the knee joint. The hyaluronic acid acts as a lubricant for bones to move smoothly over each other and as a shock absorber for joint loads.
